HISTORY
Golf Club Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith
Historical heritage as a tournament venue
The traditional 18-hole course opened in 1989 and became the venue for the Kitzbühel Golf Alpin Open on the European Challenge Tour in 2003. This tournament is an important stop for up-and-coming European golf professionals.
England's David Geall won with an outstanding score of −23. The par-3 16th hole is particularly memorable. Affectionately known as the "Mausefalle" (mouse trap), it features a tee shot over a picturesque little gorge that has always made golfers' hearts beat faster.
New chapter: DP World Tour Event 2026
With the prestigious Austrian Alpine Open embedded in the DP World Tour tournament calendar, the course will return to the big international stage in 2026. This decision is a milestone not only for the golf club but also for the entire Tyrol region. It establishes Kitzbühel as a premier Alpine destination, offering both sporting excellence and exceptional hospitality, even in the off-season.
Fresh Drive: New Tee Boxes & Bunker Areas
To meet the high standards of a DP World Tour event, the course infrastructure is being expanded with six new tee boxes and five new bunker areas.

These measures offer greater strategic depth and modern versatility without compromising the course's distinctive charm. Rather, they represent an effective, subtle quality improvement that highlights its international appeal.
The Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith Golf Club harmoniously blends savoir-faire, alpine ambiance, and sporting ambition. With the upcoming DP World Tour Event in 2026 and targeted infrastructure expansions, the course is entering a new league without compromising its unique character.
It is an exquisite stage for champions and a promise to all
who aspire to play at the highest level, where international excellence, course quality, and alpine beauty come together
in perfect harmony.
