Freddy Schott has confirmed his participation in the 2026 Austrian Alpine Open. The German claimed his maiden victory on the DP World Tour this season and is one of the breakout stars of the season.

Freddy Schott’s path to professional golf was clear from an early age. By the age of 13, he already had a 0 handicap, and by the time he was 16, Schott was playing alongside his idol and mentor Marcel Siem in the German Bundesliga.

Just three years later, he turned professional and won his first tournament on the Pro Golf Tour that same year. In 2022, he secured his second professional victory on the Hotel Planner Tour (formerly the Challenge Tour), and Schott qualified for the DP World Tour in just his second year as a pro.

Schott countered the loss of his playing privileges during his rookie season with an impressive comeback. In November 2023, he won the six-round Q-School Marathon and regained his card with flying colors. Two mixed years followed, but despite fewer starts in 2025, Schott once again earned a full card for this year’s DP World Tour season with key top finishes.

This season marked the young German’s definitive breakthrough: Schott won his first DP World Tour title at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, celebrating the biggest success of his career to date. In a dramatic playoff, he showed nerves of steel, defeating not only Calum Hill but also former Masters champion and Ryder Cup player Patrick Reed. Thanks to this impressive victory, Schott has temporarily moved into the top 10 of the Race to Dubai rankings and has also secured his spot in some big tournaments.

Spectators in Kitzbühel can look forward to an exciting young player who ranks among the longest drivers on the Tour and thrills golf fans not least with his aggressive style of play.
