Rafael “Rafa” Cabrera-Bello has confirmed his participation in the 2026 Austrian Alpine Open in Kitzbühel. The Spaniard already competed in last year's premiere at the Gut Altentann Golf Club, where he achieved a respectable result with a shared 22nd place.
Austria is a successful venue for Cabrera-Bello. In 2009, he celebrated his maiden victory on the DP World Tour, formerly the European Tour, at the Austrian Golf Open. On the final day, he played a sensational round of 60. The Spaniard has won four times on the DP World Tour during his career. In 2012, he won the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and in 2017 he won a Rolex Series event with the Scottish Open. He fulfilled a dream in 2021 when he won the Acciona Open de Espana presented by Madrid in his home country. As a 17-year-old amateur, the Spaniard had already achieved an outstanding 4th place at his home tournament on the DP World Tour.
In 2016, Cabrera-Bello tied for fifth place at the Olympic Games. In the same year, he played for Team Europe in the Ryder Cup and remained undefeated in all his matches. One of his greatest sporting achievements is a tie for fourth place at the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
Rafael Cabrera-Bello has already shown solid performances in the current season. Particularly noteworthy to date is the veteran's T9 finish at the Investic South African Open Championship.
